Feeding the Community: A Look Back
The Arthur and Eva Brown Foundation is working to improve the lives of homeless, low-income, and fixed-income citizens. Our efforts began in 2018 with a Homeless Feeding Campaign which provided over 200 meals to homeless and indigent across Metro Birmingham.
Since 2020 the foundation has delivered over 348 Food boxes to families across Jefferson and Hale Counties in Alabama.
Through Food rescues and other initiatives, to date, nearly 400 lbs. of food has been collected and delivered for food distribution to shelters and food banks in Central Alabama.
Mentoring
The Covering All Bases Program is a great experience for scholars as we aim to provide mentoring, academic enrichment, athletic skill development, and social-emotional learning activities that support individual goal setting and improvement.
Our Kick-off in March of 2021 was initiated with a local Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit and Run Competition in the Inglenook Community of Birmingham where we sponsored (3) teams. Since then the program has evolved into a youth baseball league with teams anchored in communities across the City of Birmingham. During the Rickwood Classic featuring The St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants, the youth of the Birmingham Metro Little League enjoyed VIP credentials as the league is affiliated with Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities Program (RBI).
Clothing Campaign
The Arthur and Eva Brown Foundation Inc. acquires clothing for daily wear, business interviews and formal settings and donates these items to shelters, group homes and to individuals needing assistance.
