52-Week Bible Study Plan Outline (Including the Apocrypha)

Goal: Read the Bible in chronological order, including the Apocrypha, over the course of one year.


Weeks 1–4: The Beginnings and Patriarchs

Week 1: Genesis 1–11 (Creation, Fall, Flood, and Tower of Babel)
Week 2: Job (entire book, as it is traditionally placed with the Patriarchs)
Week 3: Genesis 12–36 (Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob)
Week 4: Genesis 37–50 (Joseph’s story and the move to Egypt)


Weeks 5–10: The Exodus and Law

Week 5: Exodus 1–20 (Slavery in Egypt, Moses, and the Ten Commandments)
Week 6: Exodus 21–40 (Laws and Tabernacle instructions)
Week 7: Leviticus 1–22 (Priestly laws and rituals)
Week 8: Leviticus 23–27, Numbers 1–14 (Feasts and early wilderness journey)
Week 9: Numbers 15–36 (Wilderness wanderings and preparation for Canaan)
Week 10: Deuteronomy 1–34 (Moses’ final speeches and death)


Weeks 11–15: The Conquest and Judges

Week 11: Joshua 1–24 (Conquest and division of Canaan)
Week 12: Judges 1–16 (Early leaders, including Deborah and Samson)
Week 13: Judges 17–21, Ruth 1–4 (Micah’s idols, tribal conflict, and Ruth’s story)
Week 14: 1 Samuel 1–15 (Samuel’s leadership and Saul’s rise)
Week 15: 1 Samuel 16–31 (David and Saul’s conflict)


Weeks 16–20: The United Kingdom

Week 16: 2 Samuel 1–24 (David’s reign)
Week 17: 1 Chronicles 1–29 (David’s reign and temple preparations)
Week 18: Psalms 1–41 (Davidic Psalms)
Week 19: Psalms 42–72, Proverbs 1–9 (Wisdom literature from David and Solomon)
Week 20: Proverbs 10–31, Ecclesiastes, Song of Solomon (Wisdom of Solomon)


Weeks 21–27: The Divided Kingdom

Week 21: 1 Kings 1–22 (Solomon’s reign and division of the kingdom)
Week 22: 2 Kings 1–15 (Early divided kingdom and Elijah/Elisha)
Week 23: 2 Chronicles 1–20 (Parallel accounts of Solomon and early kings)
Week 24: Amos, Hosea (Prophets to the Northern Kingdom)
Week 25: 2 Kings 16–25, Isaiah 1–12 (Judah’s kings and early prophecy)
Week 26: Micah, Isaiah 13–39 (Judah’s warnings and hope)
Week 27: Isaiah 40–66 (Prophecies of comfort and restoration)

Week 28: Jeremiah 1–29 (Judah’s fall and Jeremiah’s warnings)

Week 43: Mark 1–16 (Shorter gospel narrative)
Week 44: Luke 1–12 (Jesus’ early ministry)
Week 45: Luke 13–24 (Parables, Passion, and Resurrection)
Week 46: John 1–21 (Theological emphasis on Jesus’ life)
